Goderie's
Tree Farm manages approximately 90 acres of Woodlots for the harvesting balsam
and other mixed greens used in the production of wreaths and othe
r evergreen
items for the Christmas season.
Areas are harvested every 4 - 5 years, leaving the large SEED trees as
well as the smaller evergreens under 8 ft. in height.
This rotation system works well as it allows more light in for the
younger trees producing a more vigorous
and lush growth.
Hardwood
logs including White Oak, Sugar Maple, Red Maple, Cherry and White Ash over
16’’ in diameter are also harvested during the winter months.
The by product of these hardwood logs is an abundant supply of seasoned 
and split firewood that is offered for sale.
Softwood
logs including White Pine, Canadian Hemlock and Poplar over 14' in diameter
are also harvested with the tops and less desirable ones being sold as pulp.
